NTGOP-001 APP AQS, 9.3 The AQS Staff Engineer is authorized by the Task Group to approve extensions of certification up to six months as justified by conjoined audit alignment and/or commodity merit status. The Staff Engineer shall review and document prior audit results.

SAT on load thermocouple systems is always required even if the load sensor system is only occasionally used for process control or product  acceptance.  There are frequently asked questions in the HTTG Pyrometry Reference Guide (#24 and #25) and an auditor advisory (HT-10-012) that address this issue. By now, most suppliers have caught on to the fact that SAT is required for these systems, but many are still having trouble deciding between the “traditional” comparison method and implementing the alternate SAT method.
